David: The Heart of a King

Kings and kingdoms have come and gone through out recorded history. But there have been only a few that are still effecting lives today. King David was such a king. He was a man who demonstrated incredible ability by living within a paradigm of a God filled life. There are two character traits which I believe represent David's leadership ability to everyone who reads about his life in the Bible.

The first trait would be a life of worship. David was a man who loved God with a passion. His feats from killing bears and lions as well as slaying the Giant Goliath where all done through the power and faith in God. He lived a life of community with an audience of "One." We as men can take a lesson from David's life. We must push God to the front of our lives. He has everything we need to live an abundant life. We must focus our lives on worshiping God. David did this and was amazed with God's blessing and power.

The second trait would be a life of honor. David lived a life of honor. I must admit he did fail and sin during his life time but he always sought forgiveness and redemption from God. He honored God and people. If we, as men, seek to honor God we must live a life of honor. For example this was completed by David through his relationship with King Saul. David was threatened by Saul but he never took Saul's life. He honored God's anointed thus he honored God. We too must seek a life of honor in accordance to God's Word. Compassion, forgiveness, protection, and love must be added into the ingredients of life living.

So learn from King David worship God and honor God with your life and have the Heart of a King. Blessings!
